Travel Retail Sales Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Travel Retail Sales Manager to be responsible for our travel retail department’s day-to-day operations of the stores located at the Malta International Airport.

The ideal applicant should be responsible for:

  • Managing airport outlets, ensuring they are in immaculate condition and performing to the maximum potential, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and ‘the sales experience’ are reached and maintained
  • Providing leadership to the teams within; motivate and develop a strong team that will provide exceptional customer service and exceed sales targets through regular appraisal, mentoring, training and personal development
  • Act in the best interest of the Group, taking responsibility for decision-making and entrepreneurship when the opportunity presents itself
  • Maintain a personal presence that reflects the role within the Group and continue to develop own professional and technical knowledge, personal and professional networks
  • Keeping abreast of market trends and competition, and analysing business activity
  • Monitor and maintain adequate employee, operational, security and fiscal resources in order to reach targets and maintain standards, finding solutions to issues and problems in a timely manner
  • Planning daily activities, and organising team rosters/schedules according to shop & business exigencies, monitoring of leave and leave approval
  • Organising weekly & monthly meetings to discuss general improvement – team ideas, updates, new procedures, sales activity and feedback

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The candidate should ideally:

  • Be in possession of a degree in Business Management or in a similarly relevant area
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in management, preferably in a sales environment

  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work calm under pressure
